Our Work
Operational & Sales Improvement
Recognized need/spurred addition of a chief operating officer position, consolidation of operations and cost monitoring on the five dozen products made by a small manufacturer that had expanded too quickly. Established a gross profit margin threshold of at least 30 percent per product (eliminating those that were losing money); improved internal reporting tools; and updated sales and marketing to grow annual revenue by 25+ percent.
Operational Improvement
Pinpointed need to focus on contracts and potential new orders that are most profitable and reduce/eliminate those that are break-even or losing money; sharpen customer relations with largest clients, improve annual new sales by more than 10 percent and create/continually use an internal communications process to improve unity, productivity and retention at a highly respected machine shop business.
Reputation Management
Pre-determined potential disputes/concerns and delivered sequenced communications that ensured all constituents were satisfied as a third-family business was sold. It was the largest employer in a rural Iowa city.
Reputation Management
Guided CEO and 50-percent owner of a family business on how to communicate with customers, employees and other family members during a battle for control of the company with his brother, who owned the other 50 percent of the business.
Reputation Management
Developed a comprehensive internal communications plan for a fast-growing, 1,000-employee business that has most of its employees working remotely. Identified the need for senior leadership to deal more directly with conflicts and set up ways in which top and middle management could better engage with employees with the goal of increasing by at least 5 percent employee engagement, unity and trust in leadership.
